You can create a button on your web site that allows the visitor to add multiple items to their Amazon.com shopping cart with a single click of the button. This technique makes use of Amazon’s “Add-T0-Cart Button” feature.
Create an add-to-cart button on your web site for items offered by Amazon by copying and modifying the following code.
<form method="GET" action="http://www.amazon.com/gp/aws/cart/add.html"> <input type="hidden" name="AssociateTag" value="yourtag-20"/> <input type="hidden" name="SubscriptionId" value="144RR0T0YM45X6SVKSR2"/> <input type="hidden" name="ASIN.1" value="B000159ELA"/> <input type="hidden" name="Quantity.1" value="1"/> <input type="hidden" name="ASIN.2" value="B0012GN2YW"/> <input type="hidden" name="Quantity.2" value="1"/> <input type="image" name="add" value="Buy from Amazon.com" border="0" alt="Buy from Amazon.com" src="http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01/associates/add-to-cart.gif"> </form>
Replace “yourtag-20” with your Associates tag or tracking ID.
List the products to add to the cart in the values of the ASIN and Quantity fields. Identify the first product and the number of items to add to the cart using fields named ASIN.1 and Quantity.1. Identify the second product and the number of items to add to the cart using fields named ASIN.2 and Quantity.2. Add ASIN.x and Quantity.x hidden fields for however many of items to add to the cart.
You can find the ASIN for a product on the product’s page at Amazon.com. It is a 10-character value which usually starts with the letter B. For books, use the 10-digit ISBN.
Add the modified code to your web page’s HTML source code. When the page is displayed, the button looks like:
You can click on the above button to see what it does. Don’t worry, Amazon.com will ask you to confirm that you wish to add the two products (Harry Nilsson CDs) to your shopping cart. You can remove them without making a purchase or complete the checkout process through Amazon.com to buy the products.
Of course, if you use this code in your web site, you’ll want to describe what items will be added to the visitor’s cart.
